Eimer Stahl represented an oil refiner in a two week jury trial of a personal injury lawsuit arising out of an accidental chemical release at one of our client's refineries.  Plaintiff, an independent contract worker at the refinery, alleged permanent respiratory injuries as a result of his exposure and asked the jury for $4.6 million in damages.  Liability had been determined prior to trial.  The jury found no permanent injury and awarded only nominal damages for temporary injuries that were conceded at trial.
