Eimer Stahl represented a major chemical company in a dispute with NorthgateArinso, Inc., a large international human-resources firm, arising from a contract for payroll services and systems to over 18,000 employees of the chemical company in fourteen foreign countries.  The dispute arose over representations about, and the performance of, the vendor’s proprietary payroll management system.  When our client sought to exercise its contractual right to terminate the agreement, the vendor objected and claimed that our client had itself breached.  Ultimately, our client filed suit in Michigan state court, asserting claims for fraudulent inducement and breach of contract.  The matter was settled shortly after suit was filed.
