Eimer Stahl Names Two New Partners
Eimer Stahl is pleased to announce that two attorneys, Ben Waldin and Ryan Walsh, have been named as Partners in the firm, effective January 1, 2020.
Ben Waldin, elevated from Stakeholder and based out of the firm’s Chicago office, devotes a majority of his time to antitrust litigation and counseling across a number of substantive areas, including civil antitrust litigation, governmental investigations, and merger clearance reviews. Ben frequently deals with economic analysis in his practice, utilizing his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in connection with the development of testimony and cross-examination of expert witnesses. In addition, Ben actively contributes his time to pro bono matters, recently co-chairing a jury trial that resulted in a large judgment for his client against the United States Postal Service that was affirmed in large part by the Seventh Circuit. The case resulted in the largest ever award of attorneys’ fees to the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights—the organization through which Ben took on the case.
Ryan Walsh, elevated from Of Counsel and based out of the firm’s Madison office, focuses his practice on appellate and complex litigation in a wide variety of areas, including antitrust, constitutional law, corporate law, environmental, ERISA, products liability, and white collar. He previously served as Chief Deputy Solicitor General of Wisconsin, where he presented oral argument in twelve high-stakes appeals (including before the en banc Seventh Circuit) and briefed a total of thirty-two cases. Appellate briefs that he authored or co-authored as Chief Deputy Solicitor General won awards at both the state and national level. Earlier in his career, Ryan served as a law clerk on the U.S. Supreme Court for the Honorable Antonin Scalia and on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit for the Honorable Diarmuid F. O’Scannlain. Ryan was named to Forbes’ “30 Under 30: Law and Policy” list in 2017.
“We are excited to add Ben and Ryan as Partners as they continue to contribute to the success of our clients and firm,” said co-founding Eimer Stahl Partner, Nate Eimer. “They both exemplify the professional characteristics we seek to develop at Eimer Stahl and we look forward to working with them in their new leadership roles within the firm.”
