Chris Murtaugh is a Staff Attorney at Eimer Stahl, where his practice focuses on complex litigation matters including class actions, multidistrict litigation, and commercial disputes. His experience spans consumer fraud, contract disputes, and privacy matters. In addition to his litigation work, Chris serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Chicago Legal Clinic and is an Attorney Advisor for the Future Justice Lawyers of Chicago program, a joint initiative of Chicago Appleseed and the Chicago Council of Lawyers. In this role, he mentors high school and undergraduate students with a strong interest in pursuing legal careers dedicated to serving justice, helping them develop legal writing and research skills.
Chris earned his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Federal Courts, Legal Writing 3, Environmental Law 1, Land Use, and International Intellectual Property. During law school, he was a judicial extern to the Honorable Ronald F. Bartkowicz at the Cook County Circuit Court, externed at two global litigation firms, and served as a Baum Fellow at the Chicago Environmental and Energy Law Clinic, assisting clients who could not otherwise afford legal representation.
