Madeline Freyberg is a Stakeholder at Eimer Stahl, where she brings substantive experience in antitrust enforcement and complex litigation. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a Trial Attorney in the Washington Criminal Section of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division. In this role, she conducted grand jury investigations, working closely with corporate leniency applicants, foreign authorities, and agents to develop investigations, review documents, and interview witnesses.

Prior to her time at the Department of Justice, Madeline served as law clerk to Judge Brett H. Ludwig of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. She earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she served as Senior Note and Comment Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review and was a semi-finalist in the Best Brief Competition. During law school, she gained litigation experience as a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin and as an intern for the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, Washington Criminal Section.
