Elizabeth Hady is an experienced litigator who focuses on complex commercial disputes and high‑stakes litigation, with a particular emphasis on representing policyholders in insurance coverage matters involving breach of contract and indemnification claims. She has handled disputes involving multimillion‑dollar exposures, extensive administrative records, and novel legal issues.

Elizabeth brings more than a decade of public‑sector experience, having litigated in federal and state courts and before multiple administrative tribunals. Her background includes serving as Assistant Regional Counsel at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she supported federal litigation, advised agency clients, and represented HHS in administrative proceedings—work that earned her the agency’s Excellence of Service Award in 2023. Prior to that, she served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Illinois Attorney General’s Special Litigation Bureau, where she handled affirmative civil matters and contributed to high‑value, sensitive litigation, including an arbitration before three former federal judges that resulted in a $300 million award for the State.

Before joining Eimer Stahl, Elizabeth was a senior litigator at a Chicago boutique business litigation firm. She began her career as a staff law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit after earning her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
